Due to the ongoing easing of restrictions in Tasmania, schools are able to reinstate more things next term. We are excited to be able to allow parents back inside the school building at the start and end of the school day, and also to school assemblies.
Assemblies will initially run as P-2 and 3-6 separately, in order to support the guidelines around signing in and distancing between adults. More details on assemblies will be circulated at the start of Term 3.
In order to keep everyone safe, we ask that parents:
Only come into the building between 8:30 and 8:55am and after 2:45pm
If you are remaining in the building for any more than 5 minutes, you are required to sign in at the main office and complete a COVID screening form
Continue to adhere to physical distancing between adults
Bambini Bites would like to make families aware that they will increase their services in Term 3. The canteen will run Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Parents can place orders for lunch or recess on the school app or bring orders into the classroom of a morning. The canteen will also recommence counter sales at recess and lunch, but still leave the option for parents to order these items online instead.
Please also find attached a letter from the Education Secretary and the Minister dor Education and Training to families.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to some people:
Mrs Jenny Price has been working on Mr Denman’s 1/2 class for the past 2 weeks. While I know students and families have appreciated her time here, we welcome back Mr Denman at the start of Term 3
We have had some new teacher assistants in the school supporting student learning over the past few months. Thanks to Shaani and Emma who will be continuing with us in Term 3. We also look forward to welcoming back Di.
And finally to all of our families. The flexibility and support that you have shown in looking after the wellbeing and education of our community has been outstanding.
Please enjoy the holiday break, and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Tuesday July 21.
Regards, Shane Oldfield Principal

Grade 3-6 Cross Country
22 Jun 2020
The Lindisfarne North Primary School Cross Country races will take place on Wednesday 24th June (weather permitting) between recess and lunch time. Students will move to the oval in grade groups to participate in their race, as we are unable to have a whole school event this year. Unfortunately we are also unable to have spectators attending this event.
Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing to participate in their Cross Country race and don’t forget your child's house colours!
Canteen Re-Opened Reminder

Just a reminder that the Canteen is now open for orders on Thursdays and Fridays. The canteen will not be open for counter sales at recess or lunch. All recess and lunch orders will need to be submitted via the Qkr app ONLY. Orders close daily at 8:45am. No paper-based (tub) orders will be accepted. Bambini Bites have created two different menus on the Qkr app, one for recess and one for lunch which will be available for ordering items online for Thursdays and Fridays. Parent Teacher Phone Calls
Just a reminder that parent teacher phone calls are available for booking now. Please use the following link to organise a time.
There will be a meeting of the school association next Monday evening at 6:30pm here at school. We ask that anyone attending this meeting please RSVP to Lindisfarne.firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure we have a space large enough for all attendees to maintain physical distancing.
We hope to schedule our Annual General Meeting which was postponed in April shortly.
Don’t forget our canteen is restarting some of its operations at LNPS. Orders can be placed via the QKR app for Thursday’s and Fridays until the end of term. There will be no counter sales, or orders accepted through classrooms.
The school has 6 Specialized Hardrock bikes in Small and Medium sizes for sale to the school community for $100 each. Details of the bikes can be found on the links below.
The bikes have been recently serviced, but are sold “as is” and do not come with any warranty. Some of the bikes have been restricted to only operate on 7 gears, but this can be adjusted back to enable all 21 gears to work. If you are interested in purchasing one of these bikes, please make contact with the school via email Lindisfarne.email@example.com by noon next Wednesday June 24. If we receive more inquiries than have bikes available, then a ballot will be held and successful persons contacted.

Thank you to everyone for both adhering to the current restrictions on the school site, and supporting the entire school community in staying safe.
This week the school reviewed its restrictions in line with advice from the Department of Health and the Department of Education. As of next week, the following changes will be in place at LNPS:
The school day will return to a single timetable with one recess and one lunch break.
The end of the school day will still have a staggered finish time to support physical distancing of adults:
Walking / Riding / Bus / After School Care 2:45pm
Volunteers will be permitted into school during prearranged times
This can be negotiated with your child’s class teacher and numbers of volunteers will be restricted
Volunteers must be healthy and observe distancing and hand washing practices
Volunteers must sign in and out through the front office
Adults are still not permitted in school buildings at drop off and pick up times.
Choir and recorder sessions will recommence. Students are asked to leave their recorder at school between lessons
Library books can again be borrowed, but must remain at school
Students are encouraged to keep using WUSHKA for home reading. If you do not have access to a device or the internet for this purpose, please talk to your child’s class teacher
Bambini Bites will be making an announcement next week about the first stages of reopening of the canteen.
