School Banking is re-starting at Lindisfarne North Primary. School Banking Day will be Wednesday commencing on 12 August 2020.
School Banking is a fun, interactive and engaging way to help young Australians learn about money and practice good savings habits. For each weekly deposit made at school, students will receive a Dollarmites token. Once they collect 10 tokens, they can redeem them for a School Banking reward.
If your child has previously participated in School Banking, or has an existing Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account, they can start banking straight away by bringing their Dollarmites deposit wallet to school on School Banking day. If your child has lost their deposit wallet, please contact the School Banking Co-ordinator or visit any Commonwealth Bank branch for a replacement.

Nominations are open for committee members, and forms can be obtained from the school office.
On March 16 and 17 the school was due to have an external review. This was postponed and will now be held on Monday July 27 and Tuesday July 28. Details about the review can be found below, including an opportunity to be involved.
External School Review
The Department of Education regularly reviews all Tasmanian Government Schools. The reviews are an important part of how the department supports each school.
The reviews are about providing schools with quality and independent feedback to help them continue to improve the learning outcomes for students and achieve the department’s commitment to inspire and support all learners to succeed as connected, resilient, creative and curious thinkers. Reviews are not used to compare schools or to rate the performance of school staff. They are about supporting schools in a differentiated way, with reviews tailored to each school’s context and need.
Each school is reviewed approximately every four years, providing valuable opportunities for self-reflection and improvement. The reviews are conducted by the External Review Team that sits within Education, Performance and Review.
The review process
Reviews are undertaken by experienced educators. Each review panel consists of two to four reviewers, however, the number of reviewers and the length of the review depends on a range of factors, including the size and context of the school. Our school review will be undertaken by 3 people over 2 days.
The panel looks closely at each school’s performance data and will speak with staff, students, parents and the community to get an accurate picture of the school. Reviews are structured around a small number of lines of inquiry which have been agreed upon by the review chair, the principal and relevant Learning Services and School Improvement Team staff. The panel will provide the school with a report summarising their findings and recommended improvement strategies to maximise student outcomes. Principals are encouraged to share this information with staff and the community to guide the school’s future improvement focus.
Parent participation in school reviews
Feedback from parents and the community is an important part of school reviews, and parents and community members are encouraged to participate in the review. The panel members will be available to meet with parents on Monday 27 July at 2:25pm, and Tuesday 28 July at 8:45am. If you wish to attend one of these sessions, can you please make contact with the school office on 6243 0101 or by email Lindisfarne.email@example.com

End Of Term 2020-07-03
03 Jul 2020
Due to the ongoing easing of restrictions in Tasmania, schools are able to reinstate more things next term. We are excited to be able to allow parents back inside the school building at the start and end of the school day, and also to school assemblies.
Assemblies will initially run as P-2 and 3-6 separately, in order to support the guidelines around signing in and distancing between adults. More details on assemblies will be circulated at the start of Term 3.
In order to keep everyone safe, we ask that parents:
Only come into the building between 8:30 and 8:55am and after 2:45pm
If you are remaining in the building for any more than 5 minutes, you are required to sign in at the main office and complete a COVID screening form
Continue to adhere to physical distancing between adults
Bambini Bites would like to make families aware that they will increase their services in Term 3. The canteen will run Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Parents can place orders for lunch or recess on the school app or bring orders into the classroom of a morning. The canteen will also recommence counter sales at recess and lunch, but still leave the option for parents to order these items online instead.
Please also find attached a letter from the Education Secretary and the Minister dor Education and Training to families.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to some people:
Mrs Jenny Price has been working on Mr Denman’s 1/2 class for the past 2 weeks. While I know students and families have appreciated her time here, we welcome back Mr Denman at the start of Term 3
We have had some new teacher assistants in the school supporting student learning over the past few months. Thanks to Shaani and Emma who will be continuing with us in Term 3. We also look forward to welcoming back Di.
And finally to all of our families. The flexibility and support that you have shown in looking after the wellbeing and education of our community has been outstanding.
Please enjoy the holiday break, and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Tuesday July 21.
Regards, Shane Oldfield Principal
